ADVOCACY
Our advocacy is driven by the collective leadership of our Board President, Vice-President, and Executive Director. Together, they represent psychologists across British Columbia through strategic engagement in three key areas:
Collaboration with key stakeholders,
Engagement with government and regulatory bodies, and
Public education and awareness initiatives.
Current and past advocacy priorities include advancing the integration of psychologists into government-funded primary care teams, providing bylaw feedback to the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC), and strengthening partnerships with the First Nations Health Authority, ICBC, and WorkSafeBC. We also create educational materials to enhance public understanding of psychological services and the value of registered psychologists.
These efforts are supported by the Advocacy and Community Engagement (ACE) Committee, which leads initiatives such as position statements, letters of endorsement, and issue-based advocacy projects. Together, this collaborative structure ensures that psychologists’ voices are heard, valued, and represented in every corner of BC’s health system.
